Your information

Privacy and data protection.

We want you to understand exactly what happens to your details when you contact UK EV Charging. We are an independent installer introduction service, not the company carrying out the electrical work.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

The data controller for enquiries sent to this website is Packwood Group Ltd, trading as UK EV Charging, registered in England and Wales under company number 17443927. Registered office: 59 Cambrian Lane, Corby, NN18 8GR.

For any privacy question or request, email info@ukevcharging.co.uk. Please do not send identification documents or sensitive information unless we specifically explain why they are needed and how to send them securely.

2. What do we collect?

When you submit an enquiry, we collect your name, email address, installation postcode, whether the enquiry is for home or business charging, and anything you choose to put in the notes. A telephone number and your preference for a possible photo or video survey are optional. We also record when the form was submitted and whether you acknowledged its privacy explanation.

If you register interest as an installation partner, we collect your business name, contact person's name and email, optional phone and website, business location, areas covered, work types, self-declared electrical registration and OZEV status, optional experience notes and submission date.

We may receive information you send separately by email, including correspondence about your enquiry. Neither initial website form accepts photographs or documents. Please do not include financial information, health details, identity documents, security codes or detailed photographs in your initial message.

3. Why do we use it, and what is our lawful basis?

We use the minimum information needed to respond to your question, check whether an appropriate installation partner may be available, handle an introduction you have requested, keep a record of the enquiry and resolve any related question or complaint.

For prospective installers, we use the details to assess geographic and service suitability, discuss possible partnership arrangements, carry out relevant checks and respond to the application. Sending an application does not make a business an approved installer or create a contractual relationship.

Our usual UK GDPR lawful basis for responding to customer enquiries, arranging requested introductions and considering installer applications is our legitimate interests in operating a responsible enquiry and introduction service and building our installer network, balanced against your interests and reasonable expectations. Where processing is necessary to comply with a legal duty, we rely on legal obligation. We do not rely on either form's required privacy acknowledgement as consent to unrelated marketing.

We do not use enquiry details for unrelated advertising, sell lists of personal information, or make solely automated decisions about whether you can obtain an installation.

4. Who might receive your details?

Authorised people working for Packwood Group Ltd may review enquiries. If you are seeking an introduction and we identify a suitable independent electrician or installation company, we may pass that business only the details reasonably needed to contact you and assess your request. An installer receiving a referral is normally an independent data controller for its own quotation and installation activities, and should explain its own privacy arrangements.

Prospective installer application details are reviewed by our authorised team, not published as a list of approved partners. Relevant self-declared credentials may be checked with the issuing registration or authorisation body. We do not sell installer applicant contact lists.

Service providers may process information for us when providing website hosting, database storage and business email services. The website is hosted using Cloudflare services. If we enable email alerts, an email delivery provider will also process the notification details. We expect providers acting for us to protect information under appropriate contractual terms.

5. Where is information kept, and for how long?

Form submissions are stored in an access-controlled database, and only the authorised account can view the private customer-enquiry and installer-application inboxes. Separate emails may also be held by our email provider. We restrict what is collected and who can access it, but no online service can promise absolute security.

We review records and aim to remove enquiries that have not proceeded after 12 months of inactivity, unless they are still needed for a live enquiry, a complaint, a legal claim or an applicable recordkeeping duty. Records connected with a business transaction may need a different retention period. You can ask us to review or erase your information sooner where the law allows.

We also review installer expressions of interest that do not progress, normally after 12 months of inactivity. If an installer joins the network, relevant application and agreement information may be kept while the commercial relationship continues and for an appropriate period afterwards to meet contractual or legal requirements.

Some service providers may handle information outside the UK. Where a restricted international transfer takes place, we must ensure a lawful transfer arrangement or other applicable protection is in place.

6. Your information rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access your personal information, correct it, erase it, restrict its use, object to processing based on legitimate interests, or obtain a portable copy. Please email info@ukevcharging.co.uk and tell us what you need. We will verify identity where appropriate and normally respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we handle a request, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You can also contact us first so we have an opportunity to put things right.

7. Cookies and website analytics

We have not added advertising trackers or analytics cookies to the public pages. Website hosting and access to the private account area may involve strictly necessary security or sign-in technologies. If we introduce non-essential tracking in future, we will update this notice and provide the necessary choices before using it.

8. Remote surveys and changes to this notice

Selecting the remote-survey option only records your interest. It does not upload or transmit images. If an independent installer proposes a remote survey, ask them for a secure way to send the necessary pictures and their own privacy information. Read our remote-survey guidance.
